Welcome to "The Gun Surgeon's" Blog (what a name . . . "Blog"!)  :/

Here you can experience the general ramblings of a Gunsmith to include cussin and discussin what is going on in the shop which certainly could contain some "cussin", current shop projects, lessons learned and tips for firearm owners, what is in the news and the state of the U.S.A. as I see it.

May contain information regarding saving you some money as it relates to firearms, outdoor activities or perhaps safety and survival items such as product reviews and such.

If there is something you would lke me to discuss drop me a line and let me know and I will see what I can do.

Since I do not know who will be reading this (if anyone) I will do my best to keep it G rated but be advised that from time to time depending upon the topic I may toss out some PG or even some occassional R ratings here folks but I will do my best to keep that to a bare minimum.

Lastly you will probably notice many typo's thoughout.  Rest assured it really has nothing to do with my spelling abilities as much as it does that my secretary is always out of the office!  :)

I hope you enjoy and find this worthwhile.

Making Progress!

Posted on September 14, 2016 at 12:45 AM

Wow, things are really coming together!  The carpet in the shop is going in early and almost finished.  I worked on installing some new electrrical outlets last night and getting the welding area set-up. The new lights are supposed to be delivered today so I will get those installed this evening.  Tweaking this website however is a bit of a challenge to say the least!  I am using a search engine "optimizer" to try to build this site the best I can and make it work but boy is it a pain!  I have had some success as my site was rated a 54% effective rate when I started and I have it at 94% now so great improvement but I want that extra 6%!

I just got off the phone with my Credit Card processing guru Dennis Imbesi from Payment Alliance International, Inc. (PAI) What a great guy!  I am trying to work out everything I can to get low Credit Card processing fee's so they do not have to be passsed onto my customers as many establishments have been doing lately which  can't blame them.  But Dennis has hooked me up with a great plan so my customers will not suffer and pay more than they should.  If anyone reads this and has a business that accepts Credit Cards and you want to save some money give Dennis a call and tell him I sent you and that you want the same plan/set-up I have.  It costs you nothing to get set-up and running and is very easy so no worries.  Dennis Imbesi (National Sales Executive for Payment Alliance International, Inc.) 561-899-1665,  [email protected].  My rate is 0.75% over whole sale costs right now so for a $100 charge it is only costing me $1.12 vs. a previous company (Square TM ) that was charging me $3.00. So as you can see it was well worth switching!  Plus PAI is an NRA endorsed company and Square TM refuse to support the firearm industry and the 2nd Amendment so I dropped them like a hot rock!

Have a great day my friends!

The Gun Surgeon

6 days until our Grand Opening!

Posted on September 12, 2016 at 3:30 AM

Good morning.  I guess I should say "Good Early Morning" since it is currently 3:30 am.  Too much going through my mind I guess of all the things I have to get finished up this week so we can finally open our doors.  Most of the construction type stuff is finished up with the exception of installing the carpet which is supposed to be done on Wed., a couple of electrical outlets to put in and swap out the current shop lights with new LED shop lights for better light so I can see what I am doing in there!  Aside from that, it's all paperwork left.  Oh yea!   Speaking of which, I need to get off of here and write the Legal stuff for Release of Liability when someone wants their trigger worked on and below a 4 lb. pull so they don't try to sue me when they shoot themselves in the foot.

Have a great day my friends!
